We all know that our planet, the Earth, underwent a severe change about thousands of years ago. There are several reasons for the changes that the Earth faced, starting from asteroids, volcanoes, etc…  But now scientists have found nanodiamonds in North American soil. With this, the scientists are able to conclude that a comet might have exploded above this continent which has led to the extinction of a large number of mammal species.

This explosion is said to have occurred approx 13,000 yrs ago. According to a study, it says that the heat thus generated by this extraterrestrial blast likely melted much of a glacier that once covered the Great Lakes region, sending a massive flood down the Mississippi River. There was a rain of comets in North America 12,900 yrs ago causing increase in temperature and choking leading to destruction of animal species there.

These diamonds were found in 6 locations till now. These diamonds are said to be formed only under high temperature, pressure conditions which helps the scientists to conclude that there was a cosmic impact. Well, all these evidences make us learn new things that happened to our planet thousands of years ago… Thanks to the scientists…
